USE CURSOR KEYS TO SCROLL TEXT. 8 Bit ADFS Extra Info ADFS Extra Info I have filled up the ADFS version of issue 40 with the following delights: A mode 3 screen from 1V5. Filename: "8BSpic" Two digitised pictures: To: 999 (all members) From: K5K (David Robinson) Subject: Pictures on the BBC I was very impressed by the PAWNS picture in issue 36, and decided to see if I could produce pictures of similar quality on the BBC. I decided to convert from .BMP bitmap image files which are readily available in the PC world, and are used by Windows and OS/2. There are also various programs which will convert other graphics formats to .BMP. Working mainly during lunchtimes at work, using BBCBASIC86 on a PC, I am developing a suite of conversion programs. The results so far are quite encouraging. CJR permitting, there should be a couple of examples on this disc. The programs are written in BASIC and are currently very slow (100+ sec. on a '486DX2/66, over an hour on a BBC micro I should think!) I don't have time for more details now, but look out for further developments! DIR $.ADFSextra.BINGO Bingo. By myself and updated recently by an 8BS member. It works best with Speech from Superior Software. If you don't have Speech, remember that you can obtain it at 10% discount from Superior Software if you quote your 8BS User ID. Ask me for the Superior Blue Catalogue. DIR $.ADFSextra.Tape>Disc TBI-70 Tape to disc utilities. This disc is regularly updated. This is the latest version. I have made a number of changes particularly to the *RUN info files. This is so that the disc will run in ADFS. The disc is normally supplied in DFS format. My apologies to everyone that have already got this. DIR $.ADFSextra.TAU-6 TAU-6 The Acorn User Educational disc. A lot of the programs in this one had unnecessary references to DFS which I have removed to enable you to run the collection from this issue. However, don't be surprised if the odd bug crops up. If it fails, transfer it to DFS. That's it for now. See you in 41. PRESS BREAK PRESS BREAK
